Introducing students to geomatics in worklife
At Field, we believe that meaningful work experience should start early. That’s why we work closely with student organizations and academic communities to give young people hands-on insight into how their studies translate into real-world careers. Through collaboration, events, and direct dialogue with students, our goal is to make the transition from education to working life clearer, more inspiring, and more accessible.
"Open Door" event on February 12th
One example of this commitment is our career day for students and recent graduates in geomatics and related fields. Designed in cooperation with student organizations, the event offers participants a realistic and engaging look into the future of geomatics - and the many ways it can be applied in professional life.
Students will meet both young professionals and experienced specialists from various parts of the Field organization. Through talks and conversations, our colleagues share real stories from ongoing projects, demonstrate how technology is used in practice, and provide honest insight into what everyday work with geomatics actually looks like. The focus is not only on exciting technology, but also on career paths, professional development, and how the journey from student life to working professional often unfolds.
Some topics we will cover:
Data Capture & use of AI in environmental mapping
Mobile Mapping & Laser Technologies
Cool Case Studies - from Norway and internationally
Student Experiences
After the presentations, there will be time for informal mingling, pizza, and plenty of opportunities to ask questions you might not get answered in a lecture hall.
