Land aquisition

We negotiate with landowners, prepare and conclude agreements, and arrange for the property or property right to be transferred to the developer. We have experience with land and rights acquisition for roads, railways, power lines, airports, water and sewer lines, development areas and smaller private projects. 

Our land surveyors can load W-drawings into Field’s proprietary software, MapSpace, for use in meetings with landowners and the client. The W-drawings, together with orthophotos and the possibility of drawing and measuring in the map, will give the landowners a better understanding of the acquisition. W-drawings and signed agreements can always be made available in the customer’s map system via WMS or other formats. 

Land acquisition is often used in connection with public projects such as road construction, railways, power lines, or other infrastructure where it is necessary to use private or other land to carry out the project.
We negotiate with landowners, prepare and enter into agreements, and ensure that the property or rights are transferred to the developer. We have experience with land and rights acquisition for roads, railways, power lines, airports, water and sewage pipes, development areas, and smaller private projects

There are two main types of land acquisition:
•    Voluntary relinquishment
•    Expropriation

Our main focus is to treat landowners in a fair and respectful manner. We place great emphasis on transparency and offering fair compensation. When we succeed in this, our experience is that it becomes easier to reach amicable and flexible agreements on behalf of the developer.

In cases where we are unable to reach amicable agreements, it may be necessary to apply for permission to expropriate. We have experience with expropriation processes and can assist with the application.

In addition to our strong execution capabilities in land acquisition, we have a large cadastral department with many property surveyors, several of whom are also cadastral registrars. 

We see great potential for both the client and the supplier in that we can offer a total delivery, where we do not release the assignment until the surveying work has been completed and the land transfers have been registered in the land registry. A total delivery in this field will be of socio-economic importance, because we can plan the entire process under one roof, avoiding duplication of work and the friction losses that easily arise when the next step in the process is to be carried out by a new supplier.
